"Hello..."

For ages, there are many stories said about this love. I never actually felt it until, you came. You came into my life, showed me how sweet this feeling is, But before I realized your presence, you left, leaving me in vain! There are many theories on how this love changed over the years, rather ages. Poet Molla, in her version of Ramayana, describes the love story of Lord Rama in a dramatic way. Rama was sent by Dasaratha, along with Vishwamitra, to protect his yajna from Maricha. Having done that successfully, he receives divine knowledge from vishwamitra. He then goes along with viswamitra to sita swayamvar. When Rama enters Janakpur, he walks in between a garden, which is blossoming with flowers of different colours and fragrances. In the midst of this beauty, he saw Sita. They exchanged the looks and felt an instinct divine connection. That is what Molla describes as Love. The relation between Krishna and Rukmini, though many see it as devotion, is love for some. The

Temporary Motivations

There is this old saying, “Nothing is permanent, except for change”. It almost feels true. But we do not want to accept this fact! At least with respect to things, persons, we value most. we wish, they cling on to us. Love is definitely in the list. Another “Precious” that everyone aspires for is - success, if not success, we try to compromise with motivation, fuel to achieve the success.Even after the compromise, motivation doesn't seem to be just a word as it appears but one with a pre- ‘Short-lived’ attached to it. We derive motivation from many a sources, Books, Inspirational quotes, Speeches, Stories and last but not the least Visual means. Even with these many sources, bombarding Motivation on to us doesn't it feel, it is just Temporary?! For some, it may last for days, but for most of us, It lasts for at the maximum for a day. In, not so usual circumstances, it may prolong to next day’s dawn. There are many of us, who tend to postpone ‘the motivation’ its

Thank You. My Dear Teacher.

5th September marks the Birthday of the first vice President of our independent country and a widely celebrated teacher. This the only day on which, the modern civilization thanks their teachers, if at all they do, unlike the traditional way, starting the day with the recitation of “Gurur-Brahmaa Gurur-Vissnnur-Gururdevo Maheshvarah”. India has been celebrating teachers day since 1962 and now it almost feels that Education and Educational Reforms turned to be a widely discussed topic of the times. This is partly due to the initiation of reforms across various other sectors, raising the demand for structural change even in Educational Sector. The cry has gained momentum because Educational system failed to deliver its intended results even after six decades of Independence. One of the most widely heard argument is that the current education system even failed to inculcate minimal ethical values in the society. I almost dropped the idea of analyzing the issue on a broader scal

My Country. My Pride.

In a debate during my school days, on "Indian Development", one of my friend said, "Indian became independent, at the stroke of Midnight, in darkness and still remains in it!". He extracted a line from The first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru's Independence Day speech, Tryst with Dignity and dramatized it. Why Midnight? I always wondered, why did we declare ourselves Independent at midnight. The credit, goes to Mountbatten, the then Governor General of India, who laid down 3 June Plan for Partition of India and the Independence of the country's. 15 August, 1947 happens to mark the second Anniversary of Japan's surrender before him during second world war, which he considers a lucky day. Our astrologers considered, 15th an unlucky day. As a work around, they suggested that India should be declared Independent before 12:39 AM on the Midnight. You may have wondered, why then Pakisthan celebrates it's Independence on 14th August. Again,

Spin the Coin; Before you Decide.

"Writing is a simple process". Don't be shocked when I make such a statement. Like everything else in life, even this statement comes with strings attached - certain terms and condition. Of all those terms and conditions, There is one that can be simply followed , if you choose a side. When we choose a side, we will tend to follow the ideology of the side and there is nothing wrong in doing that then. But if you are trying to neutral, you are seriously in trouble. Whatever it may be, you are analysing, there are always two sides. You may argue, not always, like say, in a war between God and Evil. Even in such a situation which appears to be one sided, there is definitely another side and it is just that it is difficult to see it, having been overshadowed by other side. I would like to give you a real time example. Many of us, over shadowed by our patronage,  overlook the fact that, there are victims of brutal acts by Army. It is hard to believe at times bu

Bahubhali, A mirabile | Movie Review

It’s difficult to write a genuine review without some spoilers, so let me make this clear.. It will have some! If you haven’t watched the movie yet, go watch it, feel it, enjoy it and come back with pride for a review!! I don’t do reviews often, So don’t expect a Traditional Style. There is a bit in the trailer, which reveals, people trying to pull a huge statue of Bhallaladeva, revealing his might and cruelty at the same time. The director established the scale of Bahubali, with the same style, with the name Bahubali, being pulled up , which is mightier than you can expect. A word is sure to come from your heart, at that very moment : Mesmerizing. The promotions of this movie took place by releasing a poster every week. By this, the makers caught your pulse. You will wait for those moments and when they do arrive, you are sure to cheer. When the young Bahubali, hidden for the time being as shivudu raises with free spirit, you tend to raise your love for him along with th

A Drill of Democracy and Emergency

When I began to read an Article by GopalKrishna Gandhi , a former civil servant and a professor of history in Ashoka University, on this day 25 June 2015, which marks forty years of Emergency in India, I did not expect any topic less intensified. When the author tried to connect two person, Tsar Nicholas I, Indira Gandhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Yoga Day and a period, which is considered as Dark Days of largest Democracy in world, it almost felt he is trying to achieve the impossible. Tsar Nicholas I, a Russian ruler is known for organizing strong military. He is credited with Chess-Board pattern of Drills performed by military. Indira Priyadarshini Gandhi is also famous for making a strong impact by using military power. She waged a war on East Pakistan, giving rise to formation of Bangladesh. She is even credited as "Women of Millennium". Certain sections argue, she is raised by her father to be a leader, with complete determination and discipline.  The

The Little Drama!

Part 1: Small town of Rangur is preparing itself to sleep for the night. Most of the people in the town, worked in nearby factories. The town has its factories and market places towards east and most of the houses towards west, near the lake side. The sun had long gone by now! “Aye”, shouted Ravi alarming his friends. “Yeah”, replied Vinay responding on behalf of everyone around who is packing their things to leave school for home. “I am going to market to get Empty maps for tomorrow Geography class”, Said Ravi. “It’s already late buddy”, said Venkat, entering into the conversation. “We gave excuses for last three days, its better we get them today”, said Pardhu giving a boost some to Ravi. “Yeah! Let’s go, we better hurry, the shop may be closed”, said Ravi. The four boys packed their books in a hurry, loaded them on their cycle's and rode towards the book shop. The shop is not too far away but they had to travel opposite direction, to get back homes. They began

"Beautiful" Dress

Rejoiced by the showers of sea! I walk home, In delight. Along the bridges, my walk - continues! Here lies the one that shatters my dreams!! Dressed brown - Its not branded! But has fonts of style !! Coloured by the dirt of work- And effects added by poverty. Should they suffer! Always!! Always!!

It's time to think - Mr. Terrorist!

I have always searched for the purpose of attacks by terrorists or what-so-ever they call themselves. Most of the times, it is their inhuman acts that keep them in lime light. Is it what they want?? To be popular!! They claim, we are spreading the message!! Ironically, the message given by a peaceful preacher reaches us, truly and deeply! How can you support the fact the you are spreading the message with something called violence. How can you forget this simple logic that love and respect can spread a message of God or anything easily than fear!! Revenge!! On whom! Who is the first person who started this? I definitely see a lack of common sense here! So pity on you!! Money!! I guess, this is the most difficult way of earning some. Even if you are earning, are you living a normal life? Don't you realise the place you live is called forest or a dark place for a normal civilian! What?? What else can be the reason?? Prestige . Are you kidding me.... Pre

Music, From within!!

Music, I hear – Not from organs, not from outside But from the chords of within! Knew, the meaning – Friends, foes, loved ones Birds, kitties and strangers Does anyone around me! The loneliness of city Promises of politics Struggles of money, study and food Are all in the music! I hear it from within!! I hear it from within!! Strange it is! Strange it is! No body hears, the Music. Strange it is! Strange it is! No body hears, the Music. For they ignore it. Ugly it sounds, For those who can hear it. Stories it say, Of suffering, of fear Of a life they dreamt of All their life. Hear it, hear it – For they need you!! I hear it from within!! I hear it from within!! with love, Bala Krishna
